Soccer Goal Safety

Alaska Youth Soccer recommends that all Affiliate Clubs evaluate their soccer field's goals prior to the start of the outdoor season.
The purpose is to provide safety standards in support of USYS and Alaska Youth Soccer Risk Management, as published by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Are the goals securely anchored? Are the goals only on flat fields?
Without taking proper safety precautions, movable goals pose a risk to players and spectators. Soccer goals can tip over and injure players if not handled correctly. The following are ways on how to properly stake down goals and other important goal safety such as never climb on the net or goal framework.
Safe storage of the goals is as important as when they are in use!
Remove nets when goals are not in use, anchor or chain goals to fence post or sturdy fixture when not in use and fully disassemble goals for seasonal storage. When putting goals back on the fields, make sure they lie on flat surfaces, the safety labels are clearly visible and check all connecting hardware before use and replace damaged/ missing fasteners immediately
