Application for ODP Staff

We are currently accepting applications for coaches wishing to work with the Alaska Olympic Development Program (ODP) for
the 2012/2013 season. Coaches will work with the State ODP Director to conduct district training sessions in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kenai, and Juneau. In time, we will also be selecting team coaches for travel to either ODP Championships or Region IV Camp with our state players.

Our goal is make ODP a tool that incorporates development, teamwork and advance training through:

- District ODP training

- ODP Championships in Phoenix, Arizona- MLK Weekend, 96-98 Age-Groups (Date and location subject to change)

- Selecting players to represent Alaska at the Region IV ODP camp

- State wide training session in Anchorage in June (99 & 00 Age-Groups)

The design of the program is to have our Alaska Players evaluated and prepared for Region IV ODP Championships and/or Region IV Camp. With fully prepared players we feel confident that our players will have a positive experience and an opportunity to be selected for the Regional and National Pool for their respective age-group.

We would like our state staff to reflect the club-diversity that our own state player pools have, meaning it would be
great to have highly qualified staff from the different clubs within Alaska to represent our Alaska ODP program. ODP Staff must hold at least a USSF "D" License to work on staff; with a preference for Head Coaching positions to be held by a USSF 'B'/NSCAA Advanced National or higher. Past ODP coaching experience will also be considered. Ultimately, coaching selection and appointments will be determined by the Alaska ODP Director.

We thank you for your interest in the Alaska ODP program and hope you consider joining our state staff and/or forwarding this on to qualified candidates within your club.

If at any time you have any questions about the program, please contact Matt Dusenberry at (907) 723-2944.
