Dear Alaska Youth Soccer Families, Friends, Coaches and Players
It's gonna be a beautiful weekend and we all would like to be on the pitch, even the pros are missing soccer. We published this week a short video of players from our Alaska Development Program (ADP) which was fun to see them all out there juggling the ball. You can view the video @ https://www.facebook.com/youthsoccerprograms/ Stay safe and keep working your game at home!
Alaska Youth Soccer is actively working with US Soccer, US Youth Soccer, local and state governing bodies to ensure we have the current roadmap and guidelines for return to play. Once we have a clear picture of what the road map will detail, we will send out an update.
Alaska Youth Soccer Updates
eSports- The FIFA 20 Tournament last week was great fun and well attended! The Alaska Champions for AYSA's first ever FIFA 20 Tournament was Tate Wellman (Xbox) and Alexis Ruiz (PS4); Congratulations! We plan to continue to explore and evolve future opportunities for our membership.
NEW Juggling Challenge- We would like to spotlight players from across Alaska. You can film a short video of yourself juggling a soccer ball and text it in to (907) 887-6550 the deadline will be Friday May 15th.
Guidelines:
- Make sure to wear favorite club or school jersey!
- Have ball thrown into you from the left side as the camera looks at you (also the player's right) and then kick the ball off screen to the camera's right (the player's left). This way we can string all the videos together.
- Be creative and have fun!
GotSoccer- AYSA is excited to offer the GotSport platform on the state and club level. We are going to start meeting with the GotSoccer staff to go through the transition process for the clubs. This will include review of how the platform works, how to set up player and team registrations, register adult volunteers etc. Please submit the form below with your current administrators or register who will be working on the platform for your club/league. First training will be this month, so please get me your list by Wednesday May 6, 2020. https://forms.gle/wE9w2WJ5Kchk9NoD6
SafeSport- Reminder the Annual Background Check and Safe Sports certification can be accessed within Stack Sports and the new GotSoccer platforms. The Safe Sports Certification replaces the Abuse Prevention Training; please ensure all individuals complete the Safe Sports training or upload their current Safe Sports Certificate. Reminder ALL individuals over the age of 18 who may have the opportunity to have direct interaction or unmonitored access with amateur athletes as a representative of Alaska Youth Soccer Association (AYSA) and all covered Alaska Youth Soccer Association (AYSA) Member Organizations such as clubs, leagues and associations are required to have an annual cleared Background Check, review the (AYSA) Code of Conduct, current Safe Sport certification.
Athletes and Parents SafeSport Resources are Available Online- Please share with your club athletes, coaches and parents. This is an informational resource that aligns with our commit to ensure our youth athletes are safe and the Alaska Youth Soccer Code of Conduct is Followed.
